This is the second such event in the history of the League: the first took place on January 10th, 2009, in Moscow’s Red Square. Thanks to support from sponsors, the 2009 All-Stars Match gained a huge response: receiving live TV coverage on channels NTV, NTV+ Viasat, and Universal Sports; in North America alone the match was watched by over 22 million viewers, and in the Russian and foreign press there were more than 350 articles dedicated to the event.

All-Stars Match 2010 will be held in the spirit of competition between team of home grown players and team of foreign players, and will generate even wider coverage: planned additions to the list of channels broadcasting the event live include Nova Sport, LTV7, BelgosTV, KZ Sport 1, Bashkir Sputnik Television (Ufa), TRC New Century (Kazan), New Telemedia (Yaroslavl). The arena in which the All-Stars Match 2010 will take place will hold 15,500 spectators. It will be opened in December 2009, and will be the largest sporting arena of its kind in the CIS, and one of the biggest in Europe.
